Full leather with gilt and blindstamped titles and decorations, five raised spine bands, all edges gilt, gilt turn-ins (upper board only), 24 by 31 cm, engraved frontis portrait of the Queen, engraved title page with portrait of the Prince Consort, xvi 780 pp. plus an additional 24 engraved plates and 2 tipped-in lithographic portraits (the Prince and Princess of Wales). This copy has had a very nice rebacking at some point in the past, with reinforced hinges. Rubbing and chipping to the corners and raised bands, with a few small scratches on the covers. The lower corner of the upper boards has about 3 cm loss of leather (see image). Light foxing on the endpapers and first and last few leaves. No writing, names, or other marks. A beautiful, sturdy and attractive copy. Please note that due to the size and weight of this volume, extra shipping will be required for orders outside of the United States. (case)
